2021 Ford F-150 vs 2020 Ford F-150

Serving Seneca, SC

Even though it belongs to a line of trucks that's one of the most established in the industry, the Ford F-150 brings a wave of innovation for the 2021 model year. In 2021, the F-150 comes with more features than ever, including some technology that makes it a leader among its classmates and the auto industry. The F-150 is proud to offer the latest in Ford's award-winning Sync infotainment system, offering Sync 4 to replace the Sync 3 infotainment system in the 2020 model year. A longer list of safety features is now included in the F-150 in 2021, and it provides a more comfortable ride for occupants with a spacious cabin and seats that move in multiple ways.

Performance

The base engine is the same in the 2020 and 2021 versions of the Ford F-150. At a minimum, both Ford trucks are powered by a V6 engine with a turbo capacity. The base engine delivers a respectable 325 HP. Next up is the 5.0L V8 engine that produces 395 HP. The next turbo engine is a 3.5L V6 that generates a peak power of 375 HP. This engine is also adapted to the newly-available hybrid powertrain on the 2021 model year F-150. The hybrid system pairs the same V6 engine from the 2020 F-150 with a separate 50 HP electric motor. Together, they provide over 400 HP for the 2021 F-150 hybrid and deliver approximately 700 miles with one tank of gas. Respectable towing numbers are a highlight of the 2020 and 2021 model years. An automatic transmission is standard on both.

Appearance

More chrome accents, bolder LED lights, and a less boxy design are some appearance differences between the Ford F-150 in 2020 and 2021. The 2021 F-150 also has multiple trim levels, including some trims with their own special unique exterior features, such as the Raptor. Alloy wheels are standard on the top trims. Flared fenders and enhanced off-road tires are some of the unique exterior elements of both models.

Features

A wealth of features are included in the 2020 and 2021 F-150. The base F-150 has an eight-inch display screen in 2020, upgraded to a 12-inch interface in 2021. The F-150 gets reclining seats in 2021, and you'll find luxuries such as leather upholstery and heated seats in both model years. Ford's award-winning safety suite, the Co-Pilot360, is added as a standard safety suite in 2021.
